Facebook agent in Bangladesh has paid VAT for the month of August

Facebook’s Bangladesh agent HTTPUL paid Tk 91.39 lakh in VAT to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) in August.

Last month, Facebook agents sold advertisements worth Tk 6.23 crore to various local organizations. In contrast, they collect this VAT.

Earlier, the VAT Intelligence Department had filed a case against HTTpool under the VAT Act for non-payment of VAT on time and non-existence. They then paid arrears of Tk 77 lakh 62 thousand and personal fines of Tk 1 lakh 55 thousand.

Facebook’s agent paid the VAT for the month of August on September 15, the deadline for filing returns.

HTTPul’s managing director Aljosa Genco filed a VAT return for the month of August with a VAT payment of Tk 91.39 lakh.
