Former Bangladesh women’s cricket coach David Capel has died

Former English crickter and Bangladesh women’s cricket coach David John Capel has died. BCB and ECB have expressed their condolences over his death.

Daddy Capel was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018. He died at his home on Wednesday at the age of 57 after two years of treatment.

The all-rounder has played 15 Tests and 23 ODIs for England. He has served in English County for 32 years as a player and coach.

Daddy Capel was one of the most talented of a cluster of contenders designated to fill the boots of the great Sir Ian Botham. Capel was the first cricket player from his county to be chosen for the England cricket team in 77 years when he was first called up.

The England and Wales Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board have mourned Capel’s death.
