Khulna Youth Forum’s week-long public awareness campaign started

In response to the call of the city mayor, Khulna Youth Forum has officially started miking public awareness hygiene related to COVID-19 in the city.

World Vision Bangladesh Southern Regional Field Director Lima Hanna Daring inaugurated the event on Monday (July 27) morning.

Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq expressed his concern that many people will return to the city during the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holiday, and many people will gather at various shops and markets in the city to buy and sell Eid. If not aware at this time, the Covid-19 virus will spread to a wider scale. So at this time, everyone should follow the hygiene rules related to COVID-19.

This awareness campaign will continue throughout the week in different areas of Khulna City Corporation.

Md. Mahmudul Hasan, General Secretary of Khulna Youth Forum, said, “We, the youth, are not willing to sit at home with folded hands. We also want to work alongside the government to make the people aware of proper hygiene. So we took to the streets to respond to the mayor’s call to make people aware.”

In Khulna and Barisal divisions, a total of 290 children’s forums and 10 youth forums have been conducting various activities including child marriage and prevention of child labor under the auspices of World Vision.
