Covid-19 treatment revoked Hydroxychloroquine approval in the United States

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has revoked the approval of the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine as an emergency treatment for patients with Covid-19. This information was given in a report by CNN.

US President Donald Trump often recommends taking this drug as a treatment for corona. He even claims to be taking regular hydroxychloroquine ointment as an antidote to corona himself. However, the FDA this time revoked the approval of the drug.

The FDA said in a statement on its website on Monday that the FDA had reviewed the current study and determined that the drugs did not meet “statutory criteria” for approving emergency use. Because, based on the latest scientific evidence, it can be said that these drugs are less likely to be effective in the treatment of Covid-19.

FDA Chief Scientist Dennis Histon wrote a letter to the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) Gary Disbroy yesterday. “Based on new information and other facts, the FDA has determined that oral use of HCQ and Secure may be effective in the treatment of Covid-19,” the letter said. Therefore, the FDA is revoking the emergency use of HCQ and Secure for the treatment of Covey-19. From the date of this letter, eating HCQ and CQ in the mouth is no longer approved by the FDA for the treatment of Covid-19.’

The FDA says the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine in corona can cause heart problems. In addition, there is a risk of further side effects.
