Local organization Asroy delivered food to 200 poor families in Shibchar

Local voluntary organization Asroy has distributed Eid food items to 200 extremely poor families in the Shibchar area of Madaripur district. The food aid was delivered to the homes of the families on Thursday (May 21) night.

Founded 4 years ago, the organization selects the poorest of the poor on Eid and provides them with food. The members of the Asroy stated that among the various social activities, distribution of food items to the poor families in one of their programs ahead of Eid.

Farrukh Hawlader, a founding member and president of the Asroy, stated, “We have set up the voluntary organization with some people from different professions. The fund is formed through the members of the Board of Directors and their friends and relatives. The organization provides food items for Eid, distributes winter clothes in winter, provides monthly scholarships to poor meritorious students, and helps the needy. As well as Asroy has provided food aid to some middle-class families affected by the Corona.”

This year, keeping in mind the physical distance due to the coronavirus, The organization delivered food items to the houses of 200 families from the evening till midnight. This year the food items were 1 packet of polao rice, 1-liter oil, 2 packets of shemai, 1 kg sugar, 1 condensed milk, and half kg pulses.

Each package was delivered to the people on need of Bajeharchar, Tajpur, Guagachhia, Kharakandi, Magra Pukurpara, Utrail, Sadekabad, Kakair, Sipaikandi and Azimnagar Pukurpara area.
