UN provides PPE and emergency medical supplies to Bangladesh

The United Nations (UN) in Bangladesh has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), other emergency medical aid and humanitarian aid stocks to the Bangladesh government and the humanitarian work in Cox’s Bazar to assist the country’s COVID-19 response.

These supplies from UN have managed to land despite broken supply chains globally, stated the UN office situated in Dhaka.

The latest shipload to arrive means the UN has brought in more than 1.5 million gloves, 900 000 masks, goggles, and face shields, 300 thermometers, materials for building isolation and medical centers as well as the necessary medical supplies, and thousands of other protective items such as caps, gowns, boots, and shoe covers imported by IOM, UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, and WHO.

All the items have already handed over to the Government of Bangladesh or extended to the humanitarian operation helping the Government’s acknowledgment to the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar.
