Master Chef 2.0 held at DPS STS School Dhaka

In continuation of previous year’s great response, the second season of cookery competition, Master Chef 2.0 has been arranged at DPS STS School. The competition was organized by the Social and Welfare Club associated with Cafeteria Management. Students from grade 4 to 12 and teachers participated in this joyful competition. The final round of the competition was held on February 22, 2020, at DPS STS Senior School auditorium.

There were 3 categories available to the students and teachers to participate. These categories included mouthwatering desserts, baked items and snacks. Participants showed their culinary skills with their own ingredients of choice. From the recently ended preliminary round where a lot of food items were created, 38 students and 6 teachers were selected for the final round.

On the final day of the competition, well-known restaurateurs attended the event as judges. Out of all the recipes, the top 10 were selected for certification. Among those, 3 distinct recipes which stood out the most were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and awarded with trophies as well as certificates. Recipes were ranked based on their nutritional value, taste, aroma, hygieneand presentation. Mr. Habibur Rahman Johir from Pan Pacific Hotel Sonargaon and Mr. Md. Manzur Rashid from Royal Food Ltd. were the judges for the final round.

Regarding this event, Vice Principal Ms. Madhu Wal said, “Life is more than just academic books. With a mission to create global citizens at DPS STS, we encourage our students to come out of their comfort zone and to take part in various activities. It is a great opportunity for them to socialize with others, share ideas, and needless to say to help them become more self-sufficient.”
