The largest non-governmental organization Rangpur Dinajpur Rural Services popularly known as RDRS Bangladesh recently sign an agreement with one of the leading software companies in Bangladesh, Southtech for their microfinance solution Ascend Financials.
RDRS Bangladesh started its journey in 1972 to assist with relief and rehabilitation of the greater Rangpur-Dinajpur region. In 1972 It became a national development organization. For maintaining this big project, they were looking for a solution through which they can manage their each branch operations efficiently.
In 2011, RDRS Bangladesh showed interest in Southtech’s innovative product Ascend Banking Solution, which was desktop-based. Through Ascend banking software solution RDRS Bangladesh was operating its 240 branches in Bangladesh for the last eight years.
Moving forward with opportunity, Southtech introduced RDRS Bangladesh with its web-based solution called Ascend Financials which is a cloud-based version. Reviewing the facilities of Ascend Financials, RDRS Bangladesh decided to upgrade its previous version Ascend Banking and have finally signed an agreement for Ascend Financials on 7th Oct 2019.
Currently, RDRS Bangladesh provides development support to over 2,000,000 people in 20 districts in Bangladesh.

With the presence of the Group Managing Director and Cheif Executive Officer of Southtech Mr. Syed Mamnun Quader and the Executive Director of RDRS Bangladesh Mr. Mohammad Enamul Kabir the signup ceremony took place at RDRS Bangladesh, Uttara office.
As a result of this transition, the CMMI level 5 company Southtech will automate all their branches from Ascend Banking to Ascend Solution within a short duration of time. Although, a three months long implementation plan is being processed to upgrade the software.
Director of Southtech Group Ms. Syeda Wedad Quader, who were also present throughout the event, stated few words- “We can come this far because of all our team members hard work. This will be the largest managed project by Southtech. We believe this project will help us to draw more possibilities in future.”
