Nissan Kenya celebrated six decades of operation

Nissan this week celebrated six decades in Kenya, the hub of its East African operations, with the introduction of the all-new Nissan Navara double cab.

The group displayed the all-new Navara alongside its range of pick-ups, crossovers and people carriers at an exclusive media event near its state-of-the-art sales and service facility in Nairobi.

“Kenya is one of Nissan’s oldest markets, and we are proud to partner with the MOTUS Group in serving our customers in the country through Nissan Kenya. We have also chosen Kenya for the head office of our East African hub, and it houses our regional team that looks after all of the surrounding markets,” says Jim Dando, Director for Sales and Operations for Nissan Group of Africa.

Nissan Kenya has dealership facilities in Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa and Nakuru. In Nairobi, Nissan has opened a state-of-the-art facility that is three times larger than the existing one and comparable to the best dealerships in the world, while another state-of-the-art facility is under construction in Kisumu.

Taking the limelight was the introduction of the all-new Nissan Navara, which showcases the most modern technology in a pick-up to date. The Navara is equipped with the Nissan Group’s new 2.3 litre twin-turbodiesel engine, which offers 140 kW of power and 450 Nm of torque and which is available at both low engine speeds and at high overtaking speeds.

During the introduction of the Navara, guests and journalists had the opportunity to experience many of the vehicles in Nissan’s comprehensive range. This included the Nissan NP300 Hardbody, which is a top seller in the country thanks to its proven durability and low cost of ownership, the Nissan Patrol, another best-seller for the company with its V8 power and luxury specification level, and the Nissan X-Trail, the best-selling crossover in the world.
