Samsung brings tech academy for children in Bangladesh

Samsung Bangladesh started a tech academy for the students called “Junior Software Academy”. The first session took place on March 8, 2019, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, at SRBD (Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh, which houses approx. 400 Samsung R&D engineers).

Students will receive IT training on various technological topics such as Coding, Programming, Microsoft Office, including basic education for computer & Internet, and many more. They will also learn about the history of Samsung, get basic Samsung product knowledge and learn about Android open source system. Students will learn to implement their knowledge by using basic coding tools to develop software. They will receive a certificate upon the completion of the course.

We want to help make Bangladesh a technological giant in the future and it starts with the children as we believe that the children of today will play the most vital role for the future of this country.”

Thirty high school students from grade 6 – 10 are participating in the Junior Software Academy. Classes will be held every Friday, starting from March 8 and ending on April 26, 2019. Students had already submitted applications from February 15 – February 26, 2019. The selected students were announced on February 28, 2019.
