Bangladesh Parliament to take actions against hajj agencies for violating conditions

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Civil Aviation and Tourism today recommended to take legal actions against those hajj agencies who violated conditions set by the Religious Affairs Ministry.

The committee also recommended canceling licenses of the hajj agencies for any kind of irregularities related to carrying hajj pilgrims.

The recommendations came at a meeting of the committee at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its Chairman Muhammad Faruq Khan in the chair, an official release said.

Other members of the committee– Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Prof Md Ali Ashraf, Tanvir Imam, Md Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Qumrul Ashraf Khan and Sabiha Nahar Begum — attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the committee recommended to bring discipline in the Biman Bangladesh Airlines for smooth movement of passengers.

The committee discussed development activities of Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram, the progress of hajj management and maintenance works of Hotel Sonargaon and Hotel Ruposhi Bangla.
