Bangladesh finished 6th in Asian Nations Cup Chess

Bangladesh finished 6th in the Asian Nations Cup Chess held at Hamadan in Iran.

Bangladesh secured 7 points out of 7 games to and clinched the 6th position. IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin achieved silver medal with 3.5 points out of 5 games, reports BSS.

Starting of the event, Bangladesh team was 9 seeded teams. Vietnam and Uzbekistan both strong teams are behind of Bangladesh after the event.

In last round matches, Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 3.5- 0.5 game points.

GM Razib beat FM Moinzai Khushal, FM Fahad beat Monawary Parwiz, IM Minhaz beat Abdul Sattar and FM Kh. Amin split point with FM Mirzaad S. Wahabuddin.

A total of 14 teams from 12 countries participated in the event. Iran Green emerged champion with 13 points, India became runners-up and China finished 3rd with 10 points each.

Champion Iran qualified to participate in the World Team Championship.
