Bangladesh opens hotline after Japan earthquake

The Bangladesh embassy in Japan has opened a hotline (080-40656601 or 808-44561971) aiming to gather and disseminate information related to the earthquake that hit Osaka region on Monday morning.

The embassy said it has contacted Bangladesh nationals living in the affected areas and that no Bangladeshis have been reported to have been affected by the 6.1 magnitude quake.

Aftershocks are reported to be continuing.

All Bangladesh nationals living in the affected areas have been advised to take cautions and contact the mission through the hotlines for any earthquake-related information or assistance.
