Bangladesh set up a final clash with India after thrashing Malaysia by 70 runs at the Women’s Asia Cup T20I 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Saturday. This will be Bangladesh women’s first ever participation in a major tournament final.

Batting first, the women in red and green posted 130 losing four wickets in their stipulated 20 overs, opener Shamima Sultana top-scoring with 43 from 54 balls, featuring five fours.
She was well supported by her opening partner Ayasha Rahman, who made 31 off 27 balls with a couple of boundaries and one six. Bangladesh’s opening wicket partnership added 59.
In reply, Malaysia were restricted to 60 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Only three Malaysians reached double figure in the face of some disciplined bowling by Bangladesh. ODI captain Rumana Ahmed led the way with three wickets, conceding just eight runs in her quota of four overs, including one maiden.
Seamer Jahanara Alam, T20I skipper Salma Khatun and spinners Nahida Akter and Khadija-tul Kubra bagged one wicket apiece.
Meanwhile in the other matches of the day in the six-nation tournament, India beat arch-rival Pakistan by seven wickets to seal their place in the final while Thailand stunned Sri Lanka by four wickets.
Bangladesh earlier began their campaign with a defeat against Sri Lanka before beating Pakistan, India and Thailand.
