Mahmudullah Riyad believes Afghan series to be a challenging one

Bangladesh’s T20 vice-captain Mahmudullah Riyad said that the T20 series against Afghanistan will be a challenge as there is no difference between big team and small team in the shortest format of cricket.

“There is no big or small teams in T20 format … if you perform well on a given day, then you can beat anyone,” said Riyad while talking to the reporters during the practice session at Mirpur.

Afghanistan have become a strong T20 side, winning two of their last three T20I series having world class bowlers like Rashid Khan, who may cause the concern for Bangladesh batsmen.

Commenting about Afghanistan bowling attacks, the dependable all-rounder said he himself and his fellow mates are capable enough to face Afghan bowling attacks.

He said the way they have variety in their bowling attack, the same way, we have good batting depth and capable enough to face their bowling,” he said.

Riyad also sees their opportunity of ranking improvement through this series. In that case their variety of bowling unit and Nidahas Trophy’s performance hopes to achieve their target.
