Incidences of thunderbolt increase in Bangladesh due to raise of temperature

Speakers at a seminar here today said the incidences of thunderbolt have increased due to raise of temperature.

“The incidences of thunderbolt have increased in recent years and a total of 306 people, including women and children, died in the last year,” they said.

They made the remarks while speaking at the seminar held at the auditorium of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) here.

IEB organised the seminar titled ‘Climate Change Vulnerability and Response at Macro and Micro Level’ marking its 70th founding anniversary.

IEB President Abdus Sabur, IEB Vice-President Engineer Md Nuruzzaman and General Secretary Khandaker Manjur Morshed, among others, addressed the seminar with IEB Dhaka chapter President Engineer Md Waliullha in the chair.

The speakers suggested the farmers to wear gumboot during their works in field.
