Pran Agro will work with the USAID funded RDC project to support farmers through Krishi Hubs

Pran Agro Business Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, January 25, 2018, with the US nonprofit international economic development organization ACDI/VOCA to act as a partner for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Feed the Future Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops (RDC) activity.

Md. Eleash Mridha, Managing Director, Pran RFL Group and Tim Russell, Chief of Party, Rice and Diversified Crops (RDC) Activity project funded by Feed the Future (FtF) Bangladesh initiative of USAID signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

ACDI/VOCA as primary implementer of the USAID funded Feed the Future (FtF) Bangladesh Rice and Diversified Crops (RDC) activity works with interested enterprises to improve their competitiveness and expand the integration of smallholder farmers in target areas in Dhaka, Barisal, and Khulna divisions in selected value chains.

ACDI/VOCA, through the RDC Activity, agrees the terms of this MOU to advise Pran with the intent to help improve its competitiveness and to assist Pran conducting activities that will improve or expand the support they provide farmers to gain access to advisory services and information on modern production technologies, input supply, mechanization and finance for rice and diversified crops.

That will also help in marketing quality grains, such as fine and aromatic basmati type rice, mung dal and etc. through procurement channels called Krishi Hubs.

Technical assistance will be given to assist Pran conduct planning exercises to further refine and finalize proposed initiatives.
