Free dental care assistance for the rural people in Huzurikanda

Bangladeshi NGO “Mati Bangladesh” and volunteer organization “For The People” organized a local Dentel camp for the rural people in Huzurikanda, Sherpur on January 13. This dental camp was held in Mati training center situated in Huzurikanda Eco Village.

The total number of patients treated during the camp was above 700. They also aranged awareness classes for the school children about “How to take care of teeth” and health education for the local people.

In this dental camp 25 dentists, dental surgeon, and oral cancer Specialist provided volunteer service to the local people from Huzurikanda and nearby villages. They focused on dental care consultation, small dental surgery, scaling, Filling and Oral cancer symptom recognition.

According to “For The People”, In village areas, one of the biggest Oral threat is the Betel leaf and Chewing tobacco. In this camp, the medical found most of the Patient are suffering dental problem because of this reason.

Mati Bangladesh is organizing this kind of health program for local peoples for a long time. After last eye camp for rural people, Now they supported “For The People” to bring a dental care awareness program for rural local people who don’t get dental support often.

“For the people”, which is a volunteer-based organization starts there work in 2001 and now they have above thousand volunteers and completed 100 over dental care camps for peoples.

This medical team was led by For the people founder president Dr. Md. Shakhawat Hossain and Secretary General Dr. Saima Akter.
