Carlson rezidor hotel group launches onsite bike rental program

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, announced a pilot program that will offer bike rental stations at select Radisson Blu®, Radisson®, and Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM hotels.

“Carlson Rezidor is committed to identifying services and amenities that enhance the experience for our guests and we are pleased to add onsite bike rentals to our offerings” said Javier Rosenberg, chief operating officer, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. “We understand that over the past few years, the popularity of bike transportation has sky rocketed. Consumers have a growing need for more exercise, especially when they travel and want to contribute to a greener environment, bikes provide that and in many cases an easier and certainly more cost effective form of transportation.”

Avanti bike rentals, will be available to guests at participating hotels via stations provided by Spinway, a company that installs and manages self-contained bike rental stations.

“We are excited to partner with Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to bring easily accessible bike rentals to guests,” said Matthew Rennie, founder and CEO of Spinway. “The Spinway concept provides hotel guests with convenient access to quality bike rentals that allow them to explore their surroundings and escape the confines of traditional fitness centers”.

The Spinway Bike has been designed Avanti, a leading bike manufacturer. The bike is both comfortable and easy to ride and features puncture proof tires, a chain protector, enclosed internal gears and brakes, internal cabling, a low step frame for a wide range of riders, adjustable seat and custom basket carrier.

The rental stations consist of an electronic credit card processing unit attached to a rack of between 4 to 32 bikes. The system is simple and user friendly with customers simply swiping their credit card and following the on screen prompts.
